Yes I read it, I was replying to the other post and confirming what you said.

oh lol i like the Archocentrus Centrarchus to

a male Archocentrus sajica get very pretty and get up to 5".

Herichthys Carpintis is a very cool fish. I rently purchased from Rapps an Andinoacara Stalsbergi that has a ton of personality.

Also, a pair of Jewel Cichlids may be nice .... though they are African. Not sure if you only want new world =)

Herotilapia Multispinosa! Rainbow cichlids are cool and small
I have a pair of young jacks in my 55, but I wish I had gone with something a little smaller. If you're into dwarfs, get a colony of kribs. I was thinking jewels as well when I initially set that up, you could have a decent colony in there, and the turquoise jewls they're coming out with these days are nice.
But now, I have decided for certian, a 55 is too small for really a community of any cichlid that I"m into, so once I move the jacks to a bigger house, I'm doing badis badis all the way. All the fun of a cichlid (or most of it) in a small fascinating package. and with a 55 I can get loads of them

Yea they are pretty sweet.

As for the other replies, rainbows cichlids are a very good choice indeed. Wouldn't do a Carpintis they get a little too big.

WHO the hell says you cant have an oscar in a 55? as long as you have the filtration, you can keep them in almost any tank over 40 gallons. ALL YOU NEED IS ENOUGH FILTRATIOS AND DO YOUR WATER CHANGES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

55g oscar setup
1 oscar
1 L204 Pleco
2 Emperor 400 HOB filter
1 Magnum c 350
50-75lbs Sand substrate
2 170gph powerheads with pre-filters
and enough cover for him to hide.

Simple, easy, and he will be happy with his pleco friend

When it comes to water quality, yes it's possible. But I kept a 13 inch Blackbelt in a 75 hospital tank (not even 55) and the tank just looked too small. I would never keep a fish of that size in such a tank, but that's just my own opinion.
