and that pix is of some sort of indo ornamental, cant remember the species not a A. metalica. still a cool spider. also what is a good website for T care? i cant find one that includes chaco gold knees...
P. metallica, "Gooty Ornamental". Best looking tarantula probably, but super expensive and aggressive also.

I'd go for a Mexican red knee if you can find one of a decent size.

I would say stay away from the T.blondi and P.metallica unless you know what you are doing! Well, T. blondi isn't so bad (you did list birdeaters and baboons) but anything in the poecilotheria family carry a nasty venom and a bad attitude despite their beauty.
On your list, I agree with the chaco gold for a good sized and tempered spider. I've have had a pink zebra beauty for 12 or so years and I hear the chaco gold is quite similar in nature. She is so easy going she almost bores me.
I also have a soft spot for the brazilian black and greenbottle blues, I just love em. So striking but still pretty docile. Greenbottle blues are beautiful at any age but can be jumpy, IMO. For color and temper (though small size and much $$ last I checked) avicularia metallica (antilles pinktoe) is one of my faves without being terribly rare/hard to get and they are tempered like any other pinktoe.
Another favorite of mine, though have not owned, hopefully I can get one next year, is the brazilian salmon pink birdeater (Lasiodora parahybana), HUGE, fast growing, tends to stay in sight, good temper compared to others of such size but a definite hair-flicker, good color IMO, that's what I'd pick!
Another I'd consider is the mexican fireleg..

Uh, reading your responses/questions, how much experience do atually have with tarantulas? You don't have a good website (and I assume, nor a book) about T care, and yet you are considering birdeaters, baboons, don't seem to know the difference between A. metallica and P. metallica and are going on common names rather than identifying latin names... yet you want something BIG that will eat lizards and baby mice.. Do you know how much cleaning you have to do feeding such things and how the temperment of your spider can complicate that? Mammal blood can grow some nasty bacteria in your spider home.
Do some research, find a tarantula that fits YOUR needs, abilities and accomodations, THEN make a list of species to choose from that fit those needs.
Don't pick the spider then find out why it won't work.

Really, it sounds like you want a corn snake. "Big", pretty colors, eats pinky mice and small lizards. Criteria filled.

i have kept multiple arachnids before and have bred wolf spiders, when they got boring i started into T's. i know how to keep up high humidity and how to clean the discarded bugs from their webs. i have also kept several scorpion species. the only reason i got confused is i have a crappy computer that makes it hard to read stuff one certain websites and mfk is one, the P on P. metallica looked like an A on my computer and i was confused. i said i wanted one that would eat lizards or mice because i am starting up an anole breeding facility so i have anoles to feed to my snake and bearded dragon, and i get pinky mice cheaper then crickets and i have read not to give T's bugs from your lawn. I dont have a book yet because my dad wont let me buy a book untill i buy a T so i am having issues doing this without one, i allready know which books to get and have them on hold(ill go check what the names are and repost them for you). one last thing i didnt use latin names becuase i am not a good speller and didnt want to mess up and have people think i meant one thing when i meant another. every time i see a latin name i look it up to see what the common name is and then write it down. so far i have memorized the grammostola rosea, avircula avircula, avircula metallica, T. blondi(spelling issues on the T. part) and all the aphonoplema sp. i am trying to memorize them all like you guys but having issues.
wow long post sorry:)

i wish i could delete the aggressive spiders like baboons and birdeaters off the list, they are causing probs. thoose are not the spiders i nessacarily am going to be looking at i just listed all the ones the lfs has right now. i know about aggression causing cleaning issues, my scorpion(uroctonus mordax for ya) is super aggressive and i have to clean the cage with 12 inch tongs or trap him under a little glass before i clean, my bark scorps where the same way.

here let me redo the list might take a while i am going to do exactly what you said and research every species and see which ones fit my space and other things. and i dont want a corn snake, allready got a but kickin kingsnake, and since Tarantulas and Galapagos Giant Tortoises are my fav animals i figure i might as well keep the one that wont possibly get me arrested...

here are the websites i have been using:
petbugs.com
aqualandpetsplus.com
atshq.org
tarantulacages.com
tarantulas.com
and of course
monsterfishkeepers.com
but i cant find anything on gold stripes, or a few others like that ornamental you pictured, P. metallica, or for that matter nearrly any ornamentals. i mainly want to know about chaco gold stripes.
