how big was the arow?

arow was abt 14 inches long. it'll probably sit in my freezer until my 'mourning period' is over. now looking around for a juvenile arow..still prefer them to other fish and anyway i had custom-made my 4 ft tank specially for the arow..

I knew a Brazilian kid who said they used to eat Arowana all the time back home, and he said it was good eatin'. I don't know about eating "downed fish" though. What if it died of some nasty infection? I mean you'll probably live but... How could you enjoy it?

I think if you're going to eat a tank raised fish, you have to be sure it's healthy first.

What's the best way to kill a big fish humanely? Drop a big hunk of dry ice into his tank?

Dry ice is not really ice at all. If you dropped it into the tank it will poison your fish. The best way to put down a fish is to put it on ice. Live fish enter a sleep like state when directly exposed to ice and they die in this state.

In case u guys missed it. Central Mayhem ate his Devils.

he has more pics in his gallery! LOL!

Yeeeehaaa ma, that fish is gettin much to large....lets cook him up and save that dog we hit wit the truck fer nother day! After that we can buy another large fish and then cook er up when she get biggers.

CM looks like the kinda "feller" who would eat his fish...or mount it on the wall next to the singing bass and deer head hat rack.

Here is a radical idea, stay with me on this one...how about we just buy fish that can fit in the tanks? AMAZING!!!!

How about we dont and say we did?

CM has the right idea! :)

Whats the point in getting a monster fish if your gonna eat it or kill it before it ever becomes a monster?

"I want a pbass sooo bad, these guys are awsome...they get so huge. I only have a 55g, I'll eat it or slam it against the wall when it gets a foot."

Has anyone on this site actually had a fish that died from old age or reached its full size?

I know. It's solid state CO2. CO2 poisoning (technically axphyxiation) is what I was counting on: it quick and painless.

I guess, upon consideration it's probably not a good idea because the temp could crack your tank. Also if you have multiple fish in that tank... well, you know.

Pbass are fine food fish. Igrew up eating rabbits and chickens and sometimes goats, critters are potential food that just happens to look good while getting big enough to eat.
