It may be alittle more fun but Ill rather land all my fish!!!

Ive lost some monster LMB messing with mono, so for me Suffix braid 20lb all day!!

Yea you can't snap with that lol. After using two pound test 8 felt so thick, I had my baitcaster strung with 12 and I thought it was 30 lol.

I would like to get a UL baitcaster but most are low quality ones. Daiwa has some sweet ones that take like 100yds of 6, but they are like 200 bucks, I want one for around 60.

usually i like to go heavy tackle just incase i really get "the big one" my bat rays set-up is a 7 1/2 ft g-loomis halibut rod a shimano tekota reel rigged up with 350 yards of 65lb braid and a 12 foot g-loomis with a daiwa saltiga 50h rigged up with 400 yards of 65lb braid

get an ambassadeur i have both diawas and ambassaduers and ic an honestly say the ambassaduer is much better and its only about $100.
As for the thick line, buy some 10lb braid its as thick as 2lb mono, thats why i always buy braid its stronger and thinner. I always keep a spool of 1000 yards of 30lb braid in my cubbord just incase a fish spools me.

Yea I hear the ambassaduers are nice, my buddy had one, lasted him ten years, but Im looking for something smaller. I have 6lb fireline braid, its like 2 or thinner than 2 but I didnt like having all that power lol.

it doesnt give you alot of power i almost snapped twice when i caught my 30lb carp on 10 pound braid. I could see the fibers snapping it looked liek the rope had some bad split ends

i love it! i use a 5'6" st. croix with the smallest spinning reel i can find(need a new one after every season) i like 4-6lb suffix mono, its all about the finesse. i even use light tackle for musky fishing, 7' bass casting rod with no more than 15lb braid its a blast!

Love ultralight fishing have 2 outfits that I guess you would call ultralight.
G Loomis SR 841-2 with Daiwa Airity 1500 spooled with 1lb crystal Fireline
G Loomis TSR 902-2 with Daiwa Airity 2500 with RCS 2506 spool filled with 2 lb Siglon Basic FC.
