Who's been electrocuted?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I use a 5 gallon bucket and a powerhead to mix up aquarium salt when I do water changes. and One time when I was unplugging the powerhead my wet hand driped water into the outlet right next to the one that the powerhead was in and I got the ***** shocked out of me. It was the worst I have ever been shocked. I felt it all the way into my face.

now im really scared, how do you ground a heater?

Btw... She was standing on a metal ladder, and who knows what kind of janky equipment this store had linked together. I would hazard to guess that she was hit by much more than a typical broken heater.

And, geez people! I'm impressed with the level of hits that people have taken around here and have lived to tell the tales. Chester... I think the only reason you've never felt the fuzzies from a 9 volt is because you've been hit so many times your brain probably doesn't even register that low of a hit.

ok here is one for you, not a fish related thing but fits the topic

In my first restaurant I managed to pick up a old double barrel soft icecream machine, old school taylor. rickity old thing but it worked. was a real killer to clean though, was easiest if we moved it away from the counter slot we cut to put it in on an angle.

Well, I always cleaned it after the weekend so that it would be fresh and ready to go for the week. Had it down to a routine until the one fateful night. The floor always got kinda wet around the machine, but, hey we mopped it up at the end of the night.

Well this time when I went to push it back into place I accidentally put both of my thumbs under the lip where the connector switch was that turned on the compressor on both sides and I must have hit something that ground me to machine because the waitress said that I was moving like a jack hammer or something like that. The only thing I remember is going stone cold blind not being able to see anything then gettin thrown off the machine, and the only thing I said to my waitress was "You know, when you are getting electrocuted you can't see anything" then I went down for the count in a booth. The machine was a 220 3 phase

Now in relation to aquaria shocks. The only tanks that I have gotten shocks off of are my sw. I do not know what it is but my first gave me a shock in the water, the one I have now gives me a current hit when I touch the light corner.

Also, electrocution involves death. I doubt that anyone who has been electrocuted will be posting here.

hey you never know a mfker could have been dead on the table and then resusitated.

lol this is what i was thinking about the other day with car accidents
i was like you know i really know anyone or know anyone who knows someone who died in a car accident there arent that many fatal ones and then i realized i havent met people who died in car accidents because they are dead :wall:

I figured I would BUMP this back up ...
Not only did I electrocute myself, but I did it right in front of another MFKer !!!

KNH was over to my place to pick up some clown loaches, which of course immediately swam into my driftwood and wouldn't come out. Of the 8 I had, I think he left with 3-4 ??

Anyhow, I have a 150 up on a 36-40 inch stand (DONT EVER DO THAT) so I have to use a chair just to reach into the damn thing. And to make matters worse, its an old style tank with no centerbrace. The previous owners had a sliding piece of glass that acted as a fake center brace so you could still have 36" lights on top. Little did I know, it wasnt a tight fit. The glass was only about 1/8" larger than the gap between the sides.
While I was up on the chair fishing around for some 2" CL the centerbrace decided to fall into the tank, along with at least one light bar ....

I'm sure KNH still thinks its pretty funny, but it was about an 8 on a scale of 1-10

Nah i havent been zapped ever luckly....Now im bound to be zapped like bullriding ppl are always like dont get hung up....Then it happens. I came out of ring one day so mad at this guy. But the guy alrdy took off lol.

ive been zaped a few times by stuff non fish related. wiring green house lights and other ho stuff when im no electrician. Early this year i was welding in a damp confined hole, grounded myself somehow threw my knee, instantly threw up all in my mask and couldnt walk for an hour lol

I got fryed by three phase at work snapped my arm backwards and knocked me to the floor felt like spewing for the rest of the day also felt weird and disorientated
