before i turned my 15 gallon into a planted tank; i had eight 2.5 - 3'' convicts and about 100+ 8 week old large con fry... lol in a 15 gallon!! :nilly:

no deaths ever!!! and i sold all of them for a small profit!! $$$

giant clouds of cons would just come pouring out of the pots some time..it was sad.. but yet amusing to watch.. cons are so interactive and having 100+ in a 15 gallon tank was very exciting to watch. it was like fish soap-opera...

heres some crappy cell pics from back in the day..lol

im going to his house in about a weeks time to pick up my gulper catfish, ill try to get some pictures of it!!

definitely I dont advocate irresponsible tank stuffing but sometimes it happens, like recently I bought all of a guys fish (approx 200+ africans)and had to stuff them in a 180g and another 100g that I had here but only until I set up the empty 180g and soon to be set up 168g. edit:I also bought his 230g they came out of and will be setting that up here by second week of august, so yeh I stuffed the 2 tanks but was ready with and empty 180g empty 168g and bought the 230g so my plan was over stuff for a week then thin the 200+ africans between 578g of new water.

the 180 ended up looking like this, made me rush like heck to get the other 180 set up

meant 2 weeks of constant tank maintenance and water changes and a few very all night long fish arranging sessions. did 8 hours of work last night making sure the tanks were proper for the fish.

the way I figure if one chooses to keep fish one has no place to be upset about doing the amount of work it takes

why am i sad about upgrading? because i'll have to spend more money and move stuff around and explain to my parents why i need a new tank.

Umm... I'm pretty sure your fish didn't force entry into your home with a weapon and demand to stay.

The same reason why it's cool to wear cool clothes.

Man's stupidity.
This is a pointless comparison. Your example cites personal preference and has nothing to do with the morality behind attempted overcrowding of one's pets. If one overstocks his tank yet does his job of what is necessary compared to another who simply overstocks his tank and could care less even doing a partial water change, then there's a difference. As for bragging rights over overstocking conditions, I am speechless to say anymore about this.

i hate this overstocking buisness

imo thats very creul but i would still love to see it :S

Shouldn't discussion of animal abuse be a violation of the terms of service? I mean, some of these people aren't even sorry for what they are doing. During transition or tank breaks, it makes sense, but this ongoing cramming really shouldn't be allowed to be promoted, should it? This is like going to a dog forum and talking about which baseball bat or whipping technique can get a pitbull mean faster. You just don't do it.

I said I WOULD STILL UPGRADE, what else do you want me to do? NOT upgrade?

I hate upgrading and having to manage the entire setup, but I benefit by getting a bigger tank for my fish, which outweighs the work I don't want to do.

People here with lots of tanks complain about doing water changes all the time, but every week they still end up hauling hundreds of gallons of water in and out of the tank. Did the piece of glass come alive and demand that people keep fish in them? They still do what they should do even though they don't want to, and so will I. What's wrong with that?

Geez

I think they only picked on you because you are complaining about fishkeeping requiring work. It's great you are upgrading, and choosing to keep the fish. It's just odd to complain about it. If I said I was getting a Shelby Cobra but I had to walk a few blocks and I hate walking, wouldn't you be a little confused? Usually nobody mentions the negative aspects unless it's in a passing manner. The way you phrased it apparently led some to think you were resentful about having fish. At least, that's what it looks like to me anyway. Happy fishkeeping.

Freezekougra, is english your first language? Or maybe you are young. The choice of 'sad' is probably too strong a word for describing the obligations of fishkeeping. Perhaps 'inconvenient' is what you mean. It's wiser to downplay the negative in most of life's circumstances. People will like you better and you'll probably smile more. Just trying to be helpful, forgive me if I'm off-base.
