"It's an American brand owned by Italians." bahahahaha

I did not know about Lenscrafters and Pearle being owned by this little known monopoly. Interesting. Crap! I'm going to Pearle tomorrow!! This is poop! :irked: And they own the eye insurance? What? Why is this legal?

I just bought new glasses at Costco. I got those add-on thingies.... ummmmmm. Its the one on the commercial that dims under direct sunlight. Like semi-sunglasses. Only its for distance. I'm 15 and I'm 20/130 on my left eye and 20/140 on my right eye. I can't see past 10 feet.

Please do not take this as a joke my eyesight is nothing to laugh about. I'm getting to the legally blind area my doctor says. When I forget my glasses at school I have to stand up and my nose is touching the projector screen. That's the only way for me to see the text.

I'm bad too, not as bad as yours but still pretty bad. But you're still so young. Well, gotta just work with the cards you're dealt

uh, Biggles posted before that bad eyes caused difficulty reading on forum. to which I attributed (correctly or not), him not following up on threads well. seems like it'd be tedious.

I almost always get a laugh, though :-]

my hubby went to a real cheap place once. the lenses were SO incorrect he couldn't use them, it caused headaches.

Kind of the same for me. I usually get my contacts and glasses from Costco, but since I switched jobs 4 years ago, I'm now completely covered including Vision. Unfortunately, Costco doesn't take my insurance so it's either out of pocket or let my insurance pay for the pricey glasses. My glasses are Ray-Ban and I have 2 designer sunglasses. I picked them out, but I didn't pay for them;) Even though I didn't pay for them myself, I still had a hard time knowing that my glasses cost my insurance $500 for a single pair of glasses and $150 for a year's supply of contacts, compared to when I paid around $170 for my glasses and contacts total from Costco.

Costco doesn't take insurance, but you can get your glasses at Costco and then submit a form (they have it at Costco) to be reimbursed by your insurance. It's kind of a PITA, but my wife did it for me. This year I opted out of my vision plan, I did the math and I was getting just over $200 worth of coverage per year for $240....
