Wild Blue Umbees: Monster X

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Lol ok it's cool:) and yes I have seen his new umbees, they are fricken amazing!! and those will definitely require a new name;) as far as the name goes for location x and z it's more of our own creation and genetics, that will be Umbeekings call for the name, kinda like creating your own bloodline or breed of dogs, they would be named after the kennel.

Nice so......tell me about them!!! Or just show me a pic.

Well I guess I'll wait for this new re-write the books varient. Screw these nice location z...x....and what not. I can't afford 3 x 350 gal. tanks not to mention the time to maintain them.

Lol it's not my place to show pics of those guys, that's all Umbeekings thunder:) and he is still putting his video of his trip together. And I agree, I don't have the room for a pair of each right now either, not only that the numbers are limited here until the next trip or spawn. But first and foremost I want to breed the locations themselves before I get carried away and cross. I can't get any z males so I'm working with the 2 x males, x and z female, and some rio mags

And yes the new variant is worth the wait;) but again its personal preference as to what people decide to keep, also price will effect some decisions lol

If he even finds them on his next trip. If I was you I would not cross the collection points of them. Just one more thing on the Dovii. Honduran, Rican and Nics., they are all collected from different locations in the above mentioned but get there "destination" because of the countries they are colleted at if I'm not mistaken. Keep us updated on those nice Umbee.....you know I'll be looking. Peace

I originally didnt plan on crossing the location. Weedamese got hooked up with some killer location Z's and unfortunately the rest of location z and majority of the location x females were sold to a guy and were basically put into a poor scenario in his tanks and lost alot of them due to conspecific aggression. which is niether here nor there now. Those sales were long before Umbeeking knew wether he had males/females left in his tanks. as the umbees grew he realized he had all males left. there were a few attempts to re-aquire some of those females to place into a breeding program which ended in a negative result. so until the next trip is made my options are slim for these females. So if these females make it to my fish room i will be breeding a location x pair and a X male to a Z female for the time being untill i can get male and female from the original locations to even things out. and who knows what the out come of the fry will be like?? i do know that roughly 60% of the genetics are passed on by the female... so if i have a female with tons of freckles and mix it with a male who has great blues and profile i should create.... my perfect blue;)

I'm in need of another location Z female because my males are not interested in my female and rite now you and Lopaka are the only ones with location Z females. it sucks how theres so little of these guys around but it is also good to know that you're one of the very few with these special umbees. I've turned down offers of 1000$ for my umbee's thats how much they mean to me no price can take these babys off my hands.

Yeah man only got the one that i'm going to grow out. Like we talked about, i'll get some of yours once the permits are in place etc.

Btw, is there a way to determine sex at this small size? Cause in the tank with like 40-50 umbees of .75" There was a noticeable difference in color and freckles. This tiny guy has about 4-5 spots on the cheeks, and his fins are covered with blue spots. He has a green base with tons of spots that i assume will turn blue with age. No fin extensions yet ofcourse. Hard to take a picture though as he's really skittish, since he's by far the smallest fish in the tank he is in.

Cheers bro

Maybe post a pic, it sounds like yours may be a male. Its pretty hard to determine sex at that size unless you know what your looking for and even then its not 100%

I'm sorry if i am hijacking your thread too much fwp.

Here is the best picture i could get of him. My camera cannot take good pictures of a skittish .75" fish.
