I'm certainly open to information, maybe most of the silvers in the US are wild, but the people I asked in the UK about silvers wouldn't have lied. ONe wholesaler and one big fish store, both import most of their fish directly, not through another wholesaler, or a transhipper. One of them imports wolf fish, cichla, acestros, hydrolycus etc from south America, yet told me the Aros were captive bred. Again, they'd have no reason to lie.

CDM's stunning 2 foot tig is in fact bred in captivity according to CDM himself.

Aside from being a little too quick to be confrontational, I see nothing wrong with peacockbass' posts. He thinks in a logical lineal progression and when something doesn't fit into line, he requires explanation.

BTW, I get several fish farming and hatchery mags encompassing efforts on an international basis. To date, there are no silver aro farms (beyond testing stages) producing commercially in south america. Asian farms are growing out silver aro fry for the most part. There are breeding efforts being made but, along the lines of producing sales-oriented morphs (albinos/platinums/reds, etc).
Several farms are force-spawning tigrinus cats with hormone injections because of the high-end prices these cats fetch. But, none have been shipped to the US as far as I've seen.
