I'm certainly open to information, maybe most of the silvers in the US are wild, but the people I asked in the UK about silvers wouldn't have lied. ONe wholesaler and one big fish store, both import most of their fish directly, not through another wholesaler, or a transhipper. One of them imports wolf fish, cichla, acestros, hydrolycus etc from south America, yet told me the Aros were captive bred. Again, they'd have no reason to lie.

its not that they would have lied, its more that they just coughed up an answer.

Not unlike yourself!

I'm sorry, I couldnt resist.

So they'd say, "yes our dorados and wolves are wild caught, yes if you want a hydrolycus you'll have to wait for our next peru shipment", and at the same time just make up that the silvers they currently have in stock are captive bred? Don't be ridiculous.

LOL.

although I am inclined to agree some times, I would also like to point out, that if I or del said that, we would get a PM from Fool.

What was that about tigs being unable to breed in captivity due to their migratory habits?

CDM's stunning 2 foot tig is in fact bred in captivity according to CDM himself.

because he uses logic and fact?

people jsut cant handle the truth and turn to ingnorance and denial, such as you.

neil has proved me wrong and humiliated me many times before, but i didnt take offense to it like you guys, he is correct in his thinking, This has to be the smartest 20 year old ive ever come across that preceeds a 30-40 year old with "experience".

Really? Where have i turned to ignorance and denial on this thread? My argument still
stand as we do not have concrete information on this subject.

Right or wrong, being arrogant and a know it all is not the way to go . Why do you think he has been banned on other boards ? For being smart? You be the judge.

A lot of people here used to like you. But that attitude that you are trying to monkey from Peacockbass will get you nowhere. If you dont believe me then ask read the comments that people are saying about you.

You wouldnt get a pm next time, You have receieved more than your fair share of warnings. ;) Now a young "titan" like yourself should go and make an "Epic" answer to Rumblesushi's post.

Aside from being a little too quick to be confrontational, I see nothing wrong with peacockbass' posts. He thinks in a logical lineal progression and when something doesn't fit into line, he requires explanation.

BTW, I get several fish farming and hatchery mags encompassing efforts on an international basis. To date, there are no silver aro farms (beyond testing stages) producing commercially in south america. Asian farms are growing out silver aro fry for the most part. There are breeding efforts being made but, along the lines of producing sales-oriented morphs (albinos/platinums/reds, etc).
Several farms are force-spawning tigrinus cats with hormone injections because of the high-end prices these cats fetch. But, none have been shipped to the US as far as I've seen.
