Wild strain trimacs vs "pyro" trimacs?

If this guy is breeding Trimacs to Trimacs to enhance a specific trate or trates how is this different to all the different Oscars, Discus or Angel fish breed for various trates? I'm not a big fan of designer fish but will admit it's still a Trimac. I do remember some of the videos Anubisscott is refering too and if I remember correctly it wasn't pretty. However to the oiginal point a Tri x Tri is a Tri just like the Gold Oscar nobody debates over the fact it's an Oscar. Flower Horns have done alot to damage Trimacs and every one with a slight variation is called hybred. Trimacs, because of this are held to a higher standard as far as providance than most others.

Why do you say its bull. Every time a see a good looking Trimac, then so-called experts say its a flowerhorn. It sounds like a lot of hate and envy. Do what your mother taught you and keep your mouth closed if you dont have anything good to say!

What a way of bringing back an old thread, good going.

If it was line breeding, you'd be only breeding trimacs with trimacs. Just selectively breeding the ones with lots of red on the throat.

As soon as you start breeding it with other species that are red to get a more red fish.....You are hybridizing.

Simple as that.

Pyros are only trimac to trimac never trimac to anything else.

With how hard it is to find a pure wild type trimac these days, I don't know why you would go out of your way for a line bred one. He picked a really bad fish to do line breeding on, haha. Might as well get a flowerhorn if you're going for a slightly different look to a trimac IMO...

Pyros are gorgeous and skip works hard to give people a quality product that is hard to come by these days. Trimacs awesome and very under rated. When you buy from skip you know you are getting a quality pure blood fish.

My only concern was that labeling something as "pure" trimac if it is not is misleading. I have no problem with hybrid fish even though I'm not really interested in keeping them. When I was in Thailand I saw a bunch of cool flowerhorns and I could se
Myself keeping one at some point down the road.

Pyros are pure. Do some research. They are just selective bred.
