My bad, just went back and saw that. I thought that didn't exactly sound like your logic. Thats what I get for responding after a 13hr trip, lol.
Obviously I wasn't having the best night either... Couldn't even spell "amphilophus" right.

Why do you say its bull. Every time a see a good looking Trimac, then so-called experts say its a flowerhorn. It sounds like a lot of hate and envy. Do what your mother taught you and keep your mouth closed if you dont have anything good to say!
If it was line breeding, you'd be only breeding trimacs with trimacs. Just selectively breeding the ones with lots of red on the throat.
As soon as you start breeding it with other species that are red to get a more red fish.....You are hybridizing.
Simple as that.
With how hard it is to find a pure wild type trimac these days, I don't know why you would go out of your way for a line bred one. He picked a really bad fish to do line breeding on, haha. Might as well get a flowerhorn if you're going for a slightly different look to a trimac IMO...
My only concern was that labeling something as "pure" trimac if it is not is misleading. I have no problem with hybrid fish even though I'm not really interested in keeping them. When I was in Thailand I saw a bunch of cool flowerhorns and I could se
Myself keeping one at some point down the road.
He's in white plains, md. Should we invite him to a cca meeting?
