True story, not with fish but with animals:
Friends of mine took their daughter to Denali National Palk, because they had once lived in Alaska and wanted her to see it and its wildlife. While on one of the park tour buses, they overheard a couple from New Jersey ask the guide, "Where do they put the animals at night?"
Also, I used to work in a beachfront hotel on the east coast of Florida. Our front desk had a guest call down and ask, "What is the name of the big lake behind the hotel?"
And lastly, I was standing in line behind two customers at the local post office two days ago. The first man asked, "Do you have any of the "Forever Stamps" available (the ones that are good no matter how the price of stamps changes in the future). The Postman explained that they did and that they cost X, etc. As soon as he left the next woman in line asked him. "Those Forever Stamps. I was wondering how you get them back after you mail them!!" It was all I could do not to bust out laughing.
Isn't our American education system wonderful!?

The general public is absolutely stupid.
You can't cure ignorance, don't try.
Just shake your head, nod, and smile.. If they come back 'seeking' information, then help them. If they come back 'making accusations' prove to them they are wrong.
I don't waste my time at work with idiots, or I'd never get anything done. If the idiot comes back with dead fish, I let him know what an idiot he is. If he accepts that he is an idiot and wants to learn, I help him.. If he keeps acting like an idiot, I subtly let him know he will always be an idiot and his fish will continue to die.

At my petsmart they are trying to sell you everything, and I mean EVERYTHING on the shelves. When I had an ammonia spike a month ago, we went to petsmart to get ammolock (it was the closest), and my mom ended up walking out with over 100 bucks in crap. 95 dollars of crap to be returned. But somehow I doubt theyll let us return it.

guy - (getting annoyed, like i'm an idiot for not understanding him) for the rooms? where do we go to check in?
