the real problem is that too many underqualified people are given jobs at places that they shouldn't work. im about 20 yrs old and alot of people look at me and question my advice and what not cause i m young and they ask other people in the store and they get sent back to me cause somebody else didn't know lmao.

but this lady came into the hardware store where i work and asked me about a kitchen sink. she wanted one that measured 30in (her dad had measured in from under the sink). so i pointed out the 6 we carry that all were 33in and i tell her that that is the measurement from one side to the other on the top and tell her that the inside is 30in. she said "no there not the right size". so me being the inquizative kinda guy that i am ask her why wouldn't you think that was right. she responded that she had just came from another store and they had told her that they had 33in sinks and that they are too big. so i get a tape mesure and measure it for her and its 30in inside and "she goes no its not." i respond politely that it is and she goes are you sure. and i say yes. then she says that they say 33in and i say yes thats the outside measurement and that if the outside was 30 like your dad measured that it would just fall through. so she asks me are you sure about that?. i just say yes.

I wish all petstores only had knowledgable people working there
I walked into my LFS and there is one guy working there who owns the shope
So hes got to know something about fish right? He sold 2 Oscars to a 12 year old kid and his mom that the kid was planning to put into a 3 gallon tank. That is rediculous.

no that's douch-baggery :D :irked:

an old couple walk into the fish store i usually visit
then they buy a 2g bowl and a 1g bowl
then the lady went on a spree buying fish
she bought six pairs of goldfish
for those two bowls
and the lfs guy tried telling them not to stuff the bowls up
and then they gave back a pair of moores
and then the lfs guy said they would need an air pump and the lady is like why would they need that the bowl is big enuff for them and they will manage with out the air pump
(i never say anything to people like that, simply walked out and came back after they had gone, things can some times get real ugly when you try and explain )

i'd say a 5 gallon should be the minnimum for a betta a 2.5 gallon would work but the more room the better and the tank should be set up as any other tank

I entirely agree, I keep mine in a 15g and he takes up the entire tank all the time! :) But you have to compromise with these people... cause when even "upgrading" from a 1g to a 2g is a huge deal to them, trying to convince them 5g is the bare minimum just results with them looking at you like your some sort of totally INSANE person!.... :screwy:
Seriously dude... they even convince themselves all the time by telling each other things like "I put my betta from his 1g to a brand new 3g... but he was totally FREAKING out cause he never had SO MUCH space, so I put him back in his 1g and now he is calm and happy again". I mean REALLY, this is the kind of crap they COMMONLY feed each other with! :screwy:.... and hear this, after a while, the same guy posted again saying something like "well I tried it again and I think I might have mistaken curiosity with "freaking out" after all, I think he was just excited... but I'm not taking any chances..."

There is soo much emphasis that "the fish gets scared if he sees too mcuh water"...

I love the way many use the word "upgrade" when referring to going from a 1g to a 2.5 gal... and it really seems to be a big deal for some of them to choose if they will "upgrade" or not... :WHOA:
ROFLMAO :ROFL:That's priceless!
This is one of the funniest threads I've read in a long time, wish I had a story to share.
