Well lets see. I was in the LFS helpin my aunt choose some new fish and this Know it all moron came in and asked the owner if she carried any Jags and Blackbelts. Ok so me and the owner asked a bunch a Qs and the answers were pretty lame. What size tank: 20gal How long has it been setup: since yesterday. Ok we set moron straight and told her that her tank is too small for those fish and She was like Oh no they only get to the size of the Tank And I told her to go take your Bull**** somewhere else Moron.

and your boss just let you say that? honestly

i worked in my lfs for 2 years or so, i agree there are some absolute cocks but if these people didn't buy these fish that are doomed from the start the cost of the fish good and responsible keepers buy would go through the roof. Also they wouldn't be as widely available because alot of fish shops would close down......... guess what i'm trying to say is they are a nescesary evil i'm afraid.

sadly its true, and will always be true:(

Just had a kid the other night buy a HUGE (7" from head ot tail) crayfish for his 10 gallon goldfish tank. Told him repeatedly that it would eat his fish, did he listen? Hell no, but he came back the next day to return it. Said that he woke up in the morning to find 2 less fish in his tank :D

Then a regular customer last night came in and was buying some Rams for her community tank when she made the comment that the lsat one's she bought just "dissappeared", well after a little prying found out that she also had a blue cray in her tank, for some reason should couldn't put 2 and 2 together. Needless to say I sold her a 10 gal for the cray :D

I will give it to the owner of our store, he won't hire anyone in the fish department that doesn't keep fish.

to be perfectly honest i wouldnt mind paying a bit more if it reduced the amount of clowns that buy these potential giants.
i do agree with your comment though. the price would rocket if it were not for those clowns.

A couple weeks ago, I overheard another customer inquiring about a Jardini Arowana. He asked if it would get along with his Silver. The employee asked the obligatory, "How big is your tank?"

The reply? "30 gallons"

I call liar on this one as well. If you told a customer that in about any fish store I've ever been the manager/employee would instantly kick you out and refuse to server you ever again in that store because thats just plain bad manners, bad for sales and they don't need people like you. Also after talking with managers they'd rather server a hundred people that didn't know a thing rather then a couple absolutely smug fish keepers like you are making yourself out to be there.

Just my thoughts on that one.
