Okay then. :screwy:
If I don't want to go over to Iraq and kill some people and shoot their brains out or blow up their cities I shouldn't have too.

I will though defend THIS country. If anyone invaded the United States of America, I will fight. Our forefathers fought the British for THIS country to be ours. But will I go and fight on behalf of this country in Iraq or across the seas....NO.

making people serve in the military is b.s. especially when I don't agree at all with our foreign policy. I sure hope we never have a draft. Might be a different story to me if we were actually invaded.

Good I am sure you would make a great sand bag lol!!!

As a veteran, some of the remarks in this thread make my blood boil. I don't think that anyone that hasn't served their country in the military or some other way if they lack ability or wherewithal for military service should even be allowed to vote. If you're not willing to serve in some fashion, shut up. Just put up, shut up, or leave, like TTTT said he would. I might regain some respect for him if he did.
Haynchinook, your GI Bill wasn't free, you paid for it in blood, sweat and tears. Even if you never saw actual combat, I don't care. You served.

lol at paker

that's just asinine. People in the military aren't "serving" their country, they're contributing to the policing of our b.s. global empire (in most cases). Our foreign policy is nothing like the founding fathers wanted. They would be ashamed.

I'm not going to give up and leave because I don't like it here. Where else am I going to go, anyway? I HATE when people say that. Yeah, if you don't like it and don't care then you shouldn't be here.

"'Do what you can for your country'
'Go and fight their wars for them
'They're not following in our footsteps,
Kill them'
They call that being a patriot
I just call it ignorant
If you don't fight to make things better
Then you're the one betraying the country"

That's all I'm going to say. That wasn't the intent of this thread and I won't contribute to its demise anymore. :footinmou

I have seen more then my share of combat. I probably seen more then one person should. But, I love what I do. ;)

I'm on my sixth round of combat. 4xOEF, 2xOIF :D. We are the ground setters for the two wars. Chinooks carried most of the supplies to set up most FOBs there in country. As for my GI bill being free, your right on that one. Blood, sweat and tears paid for that. Good thing the army came out with the post 911 GI bill, now my significant other can us it.
