wobbly stand and over a hair

Hello; The tank as it sits blocks the poster of the bathtub in the background. That is a very nice bathtub.
I know right, that is man cave/fish room and after it was set up I sit back in recliner and I was like what.. lol I will re-arrange it. thank you all, not sure screws I will ask him, I just feel like a glorified Donkey picking his work apart, he is a great man and has built some great stands before, I will get better pics up very soon..

Hello; The new pictures help. Looks like you could clad the legs on the outside corrners with additional 2x4 lengths. The outside of each leg will need two lengths of 2x4. A short one from the floor up to the first horozontal brace and a longer one from that brace up to the top horozontal brace. If cut correctly for a tight fit, then the load should transfer from the tank down to the floor along the wood. This could be done on each outside corrner. This could possibly be done as the stand sits for all but the back side near the wall. At least the stand and tank might survive as it sits, but there could be a risk.

To make the cuts both square and at a fairly exact length will be difficult with freehand tools. It can be done but expect some wasted lumber. With a table saw it should be somewhat easier to make true cuts and repeat them once the fence is set to the correct length.

hello; One thing you can do right away is to lower the water level. This will reduce the total weight some and reduce the strain on the stand. How low to go will depend on the filtration setup and the volume you feel the fish need. Looks like you have a HOB and an air powered box filter. The HOB will run with a lower water level ( it will make a considerable splashing noise) . The box filter will work at any level. You could throw in a couple of sponge filters if your air pump has the capacity.

Hello; The pictures show the solid legs going from the floor all the way up to the plywood sheet at the top of the stand. This means there is some direct transfer of the load from the tank to the floor thru the wood. This leads me to feel that the stand is not entirely resting the weight only on the screws. One thing about it, if the stand was very weak it would have failed fairly soon. You likely do not have an emergency, perhaps more like a case of some added upright cladding on the legs as insurance and for peace of mind.

Good luck (If you decide to throw away that poster I have a place for it. I really like bathtubs.)

I get what your saying I am gonna lower water, enough to feel up a 50 gallon drum and pray a friend helps this week. think my mind Is somewhat at ease but it has been on stand only for 2 days.
if I had a dollar for every want Ive got on that poster; id buy ya all one, but I think it is out of print
Also even though a b$tch i will drain the tank again for safety

do you have a lowes or home depot near you? if so they will cut the supports for you and you can hammer them in you don't need power tools. also could you measure how long the leglets are. depending on how long they are you might be able to get some wood to go under them to add support

My moms friend had agreed to help we're gonna tear the tank down for the 3rd time, he is gonna cut those legs off so frame I'd final support touching floor, adding the 2x4s and sdd some plywood on sides, praying!! Lol I have a house that always makes settling noises, my heart jumps every time thinking it is stand giving out

This will happen Friday or Saturday

Its a 30 gallon tank that stand will not it no problem. But adding a little to make it more structurally sound is not a bad idea. Seems like something you want to do already
