but seriously, its not necessary bro. get some 3 pcs of red or blue xmas led, that will do.
My bgk does the same tail-reversing approach that you described. He would back out of his cave until he reached my hand (which had a shrimp in it) until his tail hit me. He'd then turn around and take the shrimp. Try keeping your hand in the tank longer, letting him get use to you. Might take some time - some of my BGK's learned the first time, others never did it.
well i haven't found, or even looked for the night vision goggles, but i did find an led nightlight and the bgk doesn't seem bothered by it at all. i gotta hit up ebay for a better led light system tho. and i finally got a camera again, so pics coming up soon. hopefully later tonite. it will also eat out of my hand now.

Hey, welcome nic-!! Have patience with him coming and eating out of your hand--just keep working with him. They are so awesome. Mine was @ 3" when I got him, 2 years later he's up to 11" (I know, I know, pix). It's very normal for them to move around in all kinds of directions--mine will scoot all the way across the aquarium backwards and upside down! And sometimes he'll start spinning, it's the coolest thing. He's also not afraid of my RB Snooks, who are getting bigger and need to go into the 75g by themselves. They aren't completely blind, just have very poor eyesight (in my mind, might as well be blind) lol, definitely sense everything in the tank. Good luck!!
