What a beauty!!! I'm very jealous!!!

My hard drive failed that had all the photos I took of this guy unfortunately. I had more posted on Aquamojo's forum but it has gone offline.

The pot is 6" across for measurements sake. So he's at least 6" tall. He was longer than a 5 gallon bucket is wide (12") so I called him 13".

This one (different fish) was quite a bit smaller. The hand puts it into perspective. This one was 11"

Above all, do not take it out of the water for measurements ( remember Greenterra's Jaguar!!! ).

This is not a competition and all you said was your guesstimate.

Preseve that beast. Who cares if it is the biggest.

Absolutely awesome GT !!

Yes, who cares if it's the very biggest. Respect him enough not to net him out just to measure him. Surely our fish are not just status symbols.

There's something just incredibly awesome to me about really big GT's.

HrHagel, you are truly blessed to now look after such a beautiful animal !

Yes!! Now that's what I'm talking about:) awesome GT bro. I was always under the impression they maxed out around 13" or so. I've seen a couple around that size but not like this guy. Very impressive

I don't know where you would get such a size of a 5 gallon pale? I've had many, many 5 gallon pales over the years and have never heard or seen of a 12" wide 5 gallon pale. They pretty much have a standard size as one will fit into another. I have both 5 gallon imperial (22.6 litres) and 5 U.S. gallon pales. The 5 gallon imperial pale measures on the inside at just under 11 3/8" on the top and just under 10 3/8" on the bottom. So even in the larger imperial 5 galloon pale an 11" fish will have a curled tail when on the bottom of the pale. The 5 U.S. gallon pales are not only shorter but also a little narrower. Measured on the inside, they are typically 11 1/8" on the very top and just under 10" on the bottom........an 11" fish will most definately have a curled tail when on the bottom of this size of pale.

A 10-12" TL green terror can be a very big fish. Of course it is conceivable that somewhere, some exceptional specimen could get longer..... but I'll beleive it when I see it placed beside a tape measure, showing it's actual length. Otherwise it is just a made up number. If done quickly, with another person photographing, I have yet to see any real harm done to a fish, simply by measuring it. Of course wait 'till your fish fish is fully healed and 100% healthy. Absolutely huge GT's in this thread.....but longer then 10-12", I'm not convinced.
