Too bad you don't have yours anymore Modest_Man. I've been looking all over town for good sized feeders for this guy.

Just discovered Ich on him. The tonic and salt treatment will now run for 4 days instead of 2, so better pics won't come untill then :(

Ps. jag in the front left corner is 11" measured, Midas is 9" measured, and the smaller saum which i have pictured in other threads is eyeballed 8"

Love that GT, its huge! Im a big fan of GTs I have always had one up until recently (working on getting another soon). My largest was 11" at 3 years old... then I sold him, something I still regret. I can tell you that feeding it feeders is not a good idea because of the GTs weakness to internal parasites. If you do want to feed him feeders, freeze them for a day or two before then thaw them and feed.
If this is all stuff you already know then I apologize:D.

Hehe i was just taking the piss on Modest_Man, and that his would serve as a good feeder for mine..

That one he caught, in Hawaii i belive it was, is huge, but i still think this is larger. But its always tricky to compare photos.

Consider me on the "don't take him out, you have nothing to prove" bandwagon. I would love to know actual size but not at the risk of a beautiful fish like others have said as well. Congrats on picking him up, I know you'll do right by him. :)

Oh! I didn't see the sarcasm the first time I read it. I was wondering why someone of your apparent experience would feed a gt feeders. Now I know, LOL my bad. Beautiful fish man, I'm jealous

OK I'm curious...what happened to greenterra's jaguar? I've never had a problem from taking a fish out to measure it. If I'm going to I usually do when I'm doing a water change so it's during a time when the fish is going to be a little bit stressed already anyway.

I'm not saying Hagel should take it out to measure him, especially since the GT is sick and being treated. If it were me though I'd have put him next to a measuring tape and snapped a couple pics when I first brought him home but that's just me. :D

Greenterra's monster Jag ( he was huge as a simple search in MFK can show ) was, after a lot of enticement, taken out of the water for measurement.

He swallowed air ( as many do ) and never got right again. Died after a couple of days.

HrHagel... What size is your aquarium? Looks great! Love the fish, love the aqua scape. Wish I could find me some driftwood like that.

Imagine how big they get in the wild.

It's around 180 US gallons. Thanks, but i have taken out the big piece in the middle to free up some space. Looked a bit too crowded before imo. Might take all the wood out and decorate with rocks only to max out space.
