worlds largest freshwater fish

The walk-through aquarium displays several habitats in 16 tanks, along with the marine life inside them. The habitats are from the Ring of Fire and the Ring of Life areas of the Pacific Ocean. The largest tank holds 5,400 cubic metres of water, and a variety of fish including manta rays and a pair of whale sharks.
The tanks used in the aquarium are made of 314 tonnes of acrylic glass - roughly 1.5 times the world's annual production. The largest single pane measures six meters by five meters by thirty centimeters and weighs roughly 10 tons. At the thicknesses used, regular glass would not only be unwieldy, but would not have a desirable amount of transparency.

i herd that the largest is a chinese paddle fish.. they say it can get up to 20ft
IT ONLY COUNTS IF ITS BEEN RECORDED!THAT MEIKONG IS THE LARGEST F.W. FISH PERIOD THAT THING WOULD EAT A 12 OR15 FOOT ARIPIMA WHEN YOU SAY "LARGEST YOU HAVE TO TAKE INTO ACCOUNT SIZE-WEIGHT RATIO. NOTHING TOPS THE MEIKONG GIANT

technically, its a species of sturgeon.

a 11-13 footer was caught about 3 months ago on trev gowdys monster fish. IMO, pimas aint the biggest. its sturgeons.

I believe "technically" the sturgeon spends some time in salt water also???? At least the larger species that we are talking about for this discussion. I know this is picky but are we talking just fresh water only fish? If so then we have to discount the Sturgeon. Next we have to define larger? Length or weight?

How many times do we have to go threw this?

We should just put them all in a huge tank and see who eats who.

why is this in the natives section?
