technically, its a species of sturgeon.

a 11-13 footer was caught about 3 months ago on trev gowdys monster fish. IMO, pimas aint the biggest. its sturgeons.

Largest pima was 14 foot.....

Hi,yes sostoudt I agree with you,its true the beluga sturgeon is the biggest fish in length and weight, but because he can live and spawn in freshwater for his intire life does not mean it would? Many other fish have life cycles similiar to the sturgeons, salmons ,eels, sharks and others for that I would not consider them totally freshwater fish.

The Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan (海遊館, Kaiyūkan?, known as the KAIYUKAN) is one of the largest public aquariums in the world. It is located in the ward of Minato in Osaka, Japan, near Osaka Bay. in ther main tank the house 2 whale sharks.
yeah but just because they can be kept in a aquarium doesnt mean great whites are bigger. great whites are very pelagic and predetory . these aspects make them nearly impossible to keep

Gobrian, those alleged 14 feet for arapaimas are nothing but a big-fish-story from a single second-hand account from the first half of the 19th century. The largest confirmed specimens did not even reach 3m.

I'm 99% sure I remember zoodiver talking about seeing 14 footers in captivity
