Worst tank accident?

All these stories are starting to scare me. Tanks blowing out is the worse nightmare for me. I have a 120 gallon on carpet, that's half a centimeter off level, and these blowout stories are starting scare me. Are blow outs and leaks that common? Should I be worried?

Well I have not one but many tank accident's from being electrocuted so bad the power in the whole house went out to crash's heater's putting out stray volt's pumps making stray volts. Being stung some 15 time's by lion-fish and 3 time's from a scorpion-fish I'm sure you all seen my eel bite picture. I have flooded my fish room several dozen time's even worse I flooded my clothes ( long story ). I cleaned protein skimmer once and dropped the cup and it splashed into my mouth thus swallowing all that crap and getting a bad bacteria infection. Drank so much tank water I think I have grown gill's but after all that and even more stuff I'm forgetting I still love my tank's and glad I can enjoy them each and everyday.

This one is the best :) it's uplifting!

YIKES! All if these tank leak stories make me very very nervous...

Well, mine isn't so bad compared to some of these. Well, I have a female betta and a male betta in separate ten gallons on my desk. The heater and filter in the female's tank are OLD (I've had them since I was 5) and one day, the heater broke. So, I move her into the male's tank, and they're seperated by a divider. They were fine all day, he even started building a bubble nest, which I didn't expect, but it was exciting. So, at around 7, I go to walmart to buy some algae wafers for my corries and I get back 20 minutes later to find the FEMALE on the male's side of the tank! She beat the shi* out of him! She ate his tail and he looked dead. I scooped her out and put her in a 5 gallon bucket with a mini heater. Turns out, the male was just pretending to be dead so she'd leave him alone because as soon as she was out he perked right up :)

He's the fish in my picture. Who'd have thought the male would get his ass handed to him by the female?

Thats the way it is around my house......its called marriage.

The first time i moved all of my tanks, i had set one of my 75's down in the grass next to my driveway and when backing it, the corner of my trucks bumber caught corner of the tank. BOOM. One less 75. Im just glad i had enough room in other tanks for the fish that were in all the buckets looking at their busted tank in the front yard.

my 20 G tanks internal filters suction cups became loose and detached from the side of the tank and pointed upwards.next day i woke up to see a fountain of water shooting out of my tank and water overflowing from the tank.no cassualties though

here are a few of mine

I had a aqua 70 on my 65g brackish, the sponge got clogged an upped the basket and since I use extenders on my hob it drained over 60% of the tank before the pump lost the power to suck up

I had a 5 side corner tank that I was led to believe was a 50g when in actual it was 35g, I saw what looked like fungus starting to show on a fin so I dosed the tank with fix as if it was a 50g needless to say most of the tank inhabitants died of o2 deprivation

My worst one thus far has been my 10ft 300g after driving 2 hrs to get it we got it set up, I did a water test on it and after 4 days it cracked a straight front to back crack, thankfully I was doing tank maintenance and noticed it and got the tank emptied without the splash down. It seems that there is a metal burr in the middle brace of the tank the proverbial pea under the stack of mattresses.

Was out of town for the weekend and got the call from the sister in law who was checking out the house. "Your tank is half empty!" Drive an hour and a half back home to see my 150 about 60 gallons light. Seam failure!!! Still trying to get it all cleaned up and figured out. Wet dry vacced for a couple hours, rented a carpet cleaner. Hoping for the best. Guess what I'm getting for Christmas....
