Does ANYONE here actually keep Clown Knives with rays? I tried this and the knife ended up in solitary...... Would charge the rays at feeding time.

I have kept clown knives with rays and never had a problem, rays were large 26" disk and knives around 20" themkselves.

Maybe it's cause my rays are smaller. Knife is close to 2' and the smaller rays only a foot. It would charge across the pond and bite at the rays if they went for the food. Not saying at all that this is typical for knives.... I know the one I have isn't really fond of other fish. If it worked for you Mike then I'm just going to assume that mine is just a case of one individual with an uncommonly bad attitude.

Not just you they are known to have bad attitudes.

i do need to research into that a little bit more. but would it hurt at all to do regular water changes instead of having a drip system? if i did it would probably be about 200 gallons weekly. although i realize that a drip sytem would be much better for the tank, i do need to research it more. stock look ok?

wait csx. your a vendor. and didnt i see that h2o custom aquatics does drip systems or something like that? i think the day that someone commerical comes out with a drip sytem they will make alot of money.

A drip system is more custom plumbing than a product you can actually purchase.

thats a big 10-4 on that one. once im settled down with a full time job and im not moving all the time thats what i am gonna use.

is there any published books with plans for one? my stock so far looks like

3 silver arowana
4 motoro ray
possible leopoldi in future, depends on how motoro's go care-wise.

im thinking of making this an in-wall tank, with a filter room behind it etc, room for drip system. not sure if id need a drip system for a tank of this size if i did water changes, i could do water changes until i got one figured out or etc.

i got that book about freshwater stingrays ordered, it should be here anytime between tomorrow and next friday, ill have to read that up. its called, freshwater stingrays (a complete pet owners manual) by dr. ross. it looks like it has alot of information and good reviews. may look like the 720g tank is one of my only future tanks, may not go well with the missus if i have more beyond that....
