where i live has 2800 people. where i do most of my work has 200,000. so i know both ends. i do run 3" shells 8 of them.

its not the people who legally own licensed weapons you need to worry about. they're there to protect you, if need be.
its the criminals that don't give a flying squirrel about the law and own guns anyway. laws making guns illegal don't protect you from them. you're country's gun ban gives you a false sense of security.
I work in a convenience store at night. I should just put a sign on the door that says "no weapons allowed inside". that will definately prevent robberies. how naive...

Australian politicians are at a loss to explain how public safety has decreased, after such monumental effort and expense was expended in "successfully ridding Australian society of guns." You won't see this data on the American evening news or hear our president, governors or other politicians disseminating this information.
Guns in the hands of honest citizens save lives and property and, yes, gun-control laws affect only the law-abiding citizens.

Not sure about here in FL. I know I went to small town West Virginia once. I went out shooting with some friends. we were cruising through town in a topless jeep, carrying two rifles, an AK and two shot guns. more guns than people in the jeep, all in plain sight. I saw two people walking down the street carrying rifles, also.

look, I'm not being naive by saying that, and I don't walk around my burb at night. I was just stating, my town is extremely.. what's the word... safe? we have one burglary a year on average, and when it happens, the whole town hears about it. I know Australia's streets are just as dangerous as any other country (especially in the cities). I was just saying, the area of which I live, is generally safe. I don't think a mugging has happened in the history of town, and we've never had a 'home assult'. As naive as it sounds, I feel safe having 5 guns sitting in a locked 10mm thick gun cabnet 20 metres away from my house, in a locked shed, so it's completely unaccsessable from us if someone came into out house. I also find it safe to walk around at night in my burb (not that I would!).
