police? um yeah thats a good one! dumbest statement on this thread if you ask me. if youre gonna count on the police to save you against a crazed shooter, then God help you. who knows how many people will be killed before the boys in blue show up. most of these killing sprees happen within a matter of seconds/minutes.

Actually its not the police's job to act as personal security. It's your own responsibility. Take the VT shootings for instance. You can hear several shots being fired as the police are taking cover OUTSIDE of the building. The police arent going to run in and save you, not where we live called the real world at least.

what do you mean what killing sprees? what if it happened in a church? in a bank? in a classroom? what do you mean by chill? if its an enclosed building, where you gonna run to? not too many places to hide or exit either.

i wouldnt call it paranoid. i would call it realistic, prepared, not living in denial, and not being a sheep...

EXACTLY. there not gonna barge in and raid the building. theyre gonna wait outside, assess the situation, get backup, wait for more backup, wait for head honcho to make the call, setup snipers, and wait for standoff to end. good luck with that one
 
This is gonna go way too far so fast...so i'm not going to debate. But i've taken enough crim classes in school to know about this. On top that, i'm from CT...where the problems here aren't rampages. Its kids with guns, absolutely out of control on the streets in the big cities. Other than that...seemingly all too often some kid gets into a gun closet, or finds a parent's firearm under a pillow. And you know the rest...
So excuse my stance...and be careful if you choose to exercise your right to bear arms.

Is it "kids" with guns on the street or young adult criminals? Some times many gun grabbers refer to young gang bang punks as "kids" to strike that emotional reaction in people when in reality they arent like 7 or 8 year olds getting into the closet. Believe it or not those cases are VERY VERY rare.
