I know that this has been stated before, but just to reinforce it, you shouldn't buy pets that you cant give the best possible care for. Its not fair on neither them nor you.

roflmao, take a reptile to the vet? Come on now. Be real. Would you take a frog in? A lizard? How about a fish?

Reptile rehabiliation center is one thing but most vets don't specialize in taking care of reptiles. Why drop a bill when you may not even be getting proper care?

The OP is doing the right thing, trying to find ways of helping his turtle and seeking advice. He's not asking people to question his pet keeping ability or his morals.

Randomly treating the turtle might not be the best idea.

That wound does not look like it just popped up over night. Two other turtles have already died correct? Maybe you should give him to some one who is going to properly take care of him.

A 30 gal tank I dont think is quite big enough, for now yes, for later no.
only one died, and that was the day after i got him he was already sick

thank you so VERY much. i have benn saying that all along. i am asking for advice, not judgement

Poor little guy!

I could have had a snapper today! I let it go to the local pond. If I could keep it I would, but having those guys in the home I think is inadequate (advice not judgement).

You need to be asking John Richards the guy you bought the turtle from at loggerhead acres what you should do.

This is his email macrojon@ipa.net.

I've emailed him about my ATS before an he replyed less then 30mins later.

He wont be upset that your turtle is sick/hurt... he will be upset that you DIDNT ASK HIM FOR HELP. :headshake

I remember when I took me leopard gecko to the vet about 8 years ago. $400 bill.

But you should really be thinking about where you are going to house a 3 foot turtle. I don't think it's legal to just release them, so you must have a large pond in mind....
