well i will put my two cents in. well i am in santa fe not that dangerous of a town, but i also have a house on roe messa; pure wilderness, no electricity (except solar) no water (except wells) with 80 acers of land; my closest neighbor who lives up there is about two miles away. so guns help when your out in the wilderness alone. to protect yourslef (never had a problem with humans, but its better to be safe then dead), kill rattle snakes, hunt, or just have some fun.
