Size: 2.5"
pH: 6.5-7.5
Tank size: 10G/Individual

Greenbottle Pufferfish
Auriglobus nefastus

Size: 5"
pH: 7.0-7.5
Tank size: 55G/1 small group
Country of origin: Countries throughout the Mekong Basin, over to Indonesia
Diet: Live and frozen foods. It is imperative that you provide some sort of hard food
Temperament: Nippy, though can be kept with certain fast-moving fish
Temperature: 75-80° F

Description

Auriglobus nefastus, not to be confused with the aforementioned Auriglobus modestus, is a small Asian pufferfish that prefers to swim in groups. These fish require heavy filter flow in order to both preserve water quality and emulate the rivers in which they are found in the wild. Lots of decorations are advised in order to break their line of sight and help establish territory.

Zebra Otocinclus
Otocinclus cocama

Size: 2"
pH: 6.0-7.5
Tank size: 15G/1 small group
Country of origin: Peru
Diet: Enjoys to graze on algae and biofilm, though most dry, frozen, and live foods of a appropriate size will likely work
Temperament: Peaceful
Temperature: 75-80° F

Description

Otocinclus cocama is a far rarer alternative to common Otocinclus species such as Otocinclus vittatus. These fish are very peaceful, effective at eating algae, and, much like other members of their genus, prefer to be kept in groups. Unlike some algae eaters such as Chinese algae eaters and plecos, they are not known to suck other fish’s slime coats.

Nice variation! Are they any easier than the classic oto? I’d imagine not.

Tank size: 15G/1 small group
Country of origin: United States, Canada
Diet: Most live, frozen, and prepared foods of an appropriate size will suffice

While somewhat widespread in the United States, the Canadian population of this species is known only from a roughly eighty-mile stretch of the Sydenham River. As for the link, it does not take you directly to where you can order these fish. Go to their fish list for details on availability.

Nice choice. Looking through Jonah's stock list there are a lot of fish that I collect here in SW FL.
