Crocodile Goonch Catfish
Bagarius suchus

Size: 2’
pH: 7.0-7.5
Tank size: 180G/Individual
Country of origin: Laos, Cambodia, Thailand
Diet: Live foods, possibly frozen foods as well
Temperament: Aggressive and predatory
Temperature: 65-75° F

Description

At only around two feet, Bagarius suchus is one of the smaller goonch catfish. This species tends to prefer cooler water. They are rather aggressive, and usually will not tolerate other tankmates. Because of this, they are best kept alone. Despite the relatively small size of this particular species, Bagarius contains some of the largest catfish in the world.

Margined Madtom
Noturus insignis

Tank size: 30G/Individual
Country of origin: United States
Diet: Live and frozen foods. May eventually accept dry
Temperament: Peaceful, possibly predatory
Temperature: 60-70° F

Description

Noturus insignis is an interesting, rather peaceful catfish found in North America. Madtoms, known for their slender, almost eel-like shape, are typically very rare in the aquarium hobby, and I find their shape very interesting. As for the link, it does not take you directly to where you can order these fish. Go to their fish list for details on availability.

Sabanus Bumblebee Goby
Brachygobius sabanus

Size: 1”
pH: 7.0-8.5
Tank size: 10G/1 small group
Country of origin: Indonesia, Thailand
Diet: Live and frozen foods
Temperament: Peaceful, though slightly territorial
Temperature: 75-80° F
sg: 1.000-1.005

Description

Much like the aforementioned Brachygobius aggregatus, Brachygobius sabanus is very similar to the rather common Brachygobius xanthozonus, and Brachygobius xanthomelas. However, they are different, and extremely rare. It is very possible that this species is sometimes caught, and mistakenly sold under a different name.
