You know you are a MFK when you...

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
When ur up at 3 a.m. posting a reply on this site...cuz ur bored, can't sleep, and have no work tomorrow.

You know you're an MFK'er when...

...your house is 2000 sq/ft but, the fish building is 8000+ sq/ft.

...the municipal water department sends a truck to investigate a leak after you fill your tanks (happened to me).

...the water department sends another truck after you do a waterchange because it's sure that there really is a leak (also happened).

...you have at least one tank with a blue splash zone to warn visitors they may get soaked.

...you're having Hamburger Helper and realize you just fed your fish large market shrimp, catfish fillets, fresh mussels, etc.

...your digital photo frame has 6 pics of your family but, 750 pics of your fish.

...you measure a caught fish not for size limit but, for fitting in your tanks.

...strangers hear about your tanks and leave abandoned fish on your doorstep (happens to me fairly often).

You know you are a MFK when you...
...Convert a swimming pool to a pond so you can house more fish.

You know you're an mfk'er when you have to DOUBLE the number of sills and piers under you home to compensate for the added weight of fish tanks.

You know you're a mfk'er when the slab for your fish house has more sq footage than your own house.

That comment doesn't count. Having your shop and/or fish room exceed the square footage of your house is perfectly normal. Right?

when you use ion selective electrodes to test for Ammonia, nitrite and nitrate

You know you're a MFK'er-

-when you finally switch your utilities to the "Level Payment Plan".

-when you reluctantly buy a new vacuum cleaner belt ($3 for 2), but look forward to buying a replacement impeller for your canister filter ($49).

-when you install $300 worth of filtration on your tank containing $40 worth of fish.

-when you know the combined flow rate of every filter/pump in your fish room...but, you can't recall what size water heater you have in the basement.

-when you use your daughter as the excuse to justify getting a new fish (Chaz...you can probably get where I am coming from on this one!)

And a new one for me after reading Oddball's post...

-when your new goal is to have the utility company come to your house to check for a leak after you do a water change! :D
