Your biggest mistake

I'm probably not the first to mention Petsupermarket or Petco, but yeah, taking advice from Petco.

I was new to the Aquarium hobby and bought a 6" Pacu from them. They said it wouldn't get any bigger...

buying a clown knife before I read anything about them, now I'm obsessed, and attatched, damn expensive mistake :)

I think it was probably plugging in the heater without waiting 15 min for it to settle in....

then sticking my hand in the tank not knowing the heater cracked.... broken heater, shocked hand... and outa $30 bucks for a new heater......

About 10 years ago, I used to have a 75g aquarium with an oscar, three piranha, and an aligator gar. my initial mistake was misinterpreting the 1" per gallon rule, my second mistake was trying (unsuccessfully) through denial and error, to find another tank mate for that combo (could've sworn the bullhead cat I caught in the river would make it). and thinking i could feed a pinky mouse to the piranhas (they didn't really go for it, except for like one initial bite), that was horrible. poor baby mouse.

I made quite a few big mistakes with my first aquarium.

yeah, I bought a crawfish recently. just told the guy to give me the biggest one they have. he bagged it while I was browsing the AC's. got home, and realize it only has five legs, and of course no claws. called him, they told me they would grow back. we'll see how long that takes. only 1.99, anyway.

I wonder how that happened? Lol

i ACCIDENTALLY DROPED GLASS CLEANER WIPES IN THE FILTER,DIDN'T REALIZE IT UNTIL ALL MY FISH DIED.OOOOPS

i actually have that are equal, my first mistake was buying my first fish tank. second on would be trying to get a 10 year old heater to work, lets just say i found out that a channel cat and pleco will not survive in 110 degree water, but gold fish seem to do ok.
