I've seen 12 inch ternatzis but yeah, the size in story sounds fishy but so insignificant

Yea I noticed that too, a 150 is a beautiful home for rbp imo.
The one major issue I have with Piranhas, is that they are VERY boring fish when they arent feeding.
They just hover there in their groups (shoals?) barely moving almost frozen. And thats not very exciting. I want to see fish swimming! Fins flapping! Movement, drama, curiosity!
There is all kinds of drama in my cichlid tanks

I've found that between babies to pre adult 1"-5" they are active, mine are all @ the 6-8" mark and they are still active, they play all day, sometimes Chase eachother but its also cool when they just hang, I think the tank variations make a difference, for instance I have a lot of dw and hiding spots, plus very dark Bw and dim light, maybe their just more comfortable? When they were 2-5" I hated the constant aggression and nipping!
4 rbp and 24 black skirt tetras. Oddly the black skirts were there to cycle and added rbp to the tank that were 1". After a year the rbp were 6-8" and only lost 5 black skirts tetras and all but 2 I found the dead fish. Lost my fear of piranha after that
Huh interesting, I haven't kept other fish with my shoal, I dont have room to quarentine dithers atm but someday I would like too. And to make this clear are you saying cuz they didn't eat the tetras you found then boring and got rid of them?
Weird, I've had many other fish and compared to rbp and rhoms I find everyday lfs fish a tad boring, but if you make a good tank for them its never boring. I just like the idea of creating and maintaining a small world for animals to grow and live in, and when done properly long term its a great feeling! like a bio dome, horrible/awesome movie BTW.
