Your worst mistake?

My biggest mistake was using tap water in my Adonis tank came home from work one day to find all but one dead, it turned out they had replaced the water system/tank in my building and the result was obvious.

I didnt put a drip loop on my cords and my power bar was below the tanks.Woke up in the middle of the night to see my wall was on fire.Scariest night ever all the fish survived though.

Happened some time ago. Did the weekly WC no problems. Doing the WC the week after that, can't get a siphon out of the tank, tried everything. Smell something funky, so I disassembled the valve on the hose, turns out one of my golden labs got sucked up the week before and died. I made a ghetto safety net by cutting up a net before I started the WC.

Not as serious. Did a WC, disconnected the hose from the tap and walked away, turns out this created a siphon and drained all the water I just put into the tank. I had to refill it again the same day.

During last year's drought did several large water changes. I am on a deep well so the water table was low and had very low levels of disolved O2. Lost several saved most... but lost my Julidochromis dickfeldi breeders. All my larger fish made it. Lesson learned.

Did a water change and forgot to unplug the heater once, pop goes the heater. Bought a cheap heater another time (shorted out and I found out the hard way).

Had a seam leak on a 55 gallon. I thought I'd save some money so I decided to reseal it. Read several things on how to do it and followed the directions. Needless to say I cleaned 110 gallons out of my carpets.
