Interesting study! Still waiting on mine to arrive. What’s been the most successful so far?

Almost too busy to do much more. Fixing my blown truck engine. I will probably fill it up with as much oat char as it will hold and wait till spring.

Still trying. But slow going. Still have not had a water change in a while. Should have some new versions to test next week.

Are you still testing this on your tanks and how are the tests going? I continuously have high nitrates in my tank and am interested in trying some. I was thinking of putting some in a filter bag and just tossing it in my sump next to the return line.

Did not work that great for me I have an extremely high bio load. Is bifar hands down the best Thing I had to reduce nitrate is a sulfur denitateor, second is pothos. For the record I have a continuous water drip Algae scrubbers pathos, sulfur denitateor . If you get a very good parasolic pump The sulfur denitrator is just about maintenance free when you get it going

In case I missed it, what is the total dissolved solid levels of the tank compared with your water source?
I have no clue I never check it. Just about every fish in my tank is breeding The way I look at it is if my fish are breeding the conditions have to be Decent. I don't think I have a test kit or I would test it tonight just for the h*** of it. With my continuous water change going I couldn't imagine it being that much different
