I don't personally agree with the verdict but I already knew he was going to walk. I do think in this case Zimmerman should have been put on an polygraph and tested his story. I believe that with so much evidence missing from the case that's the only real way of piecing together what really happened. My condolences to the Martin family I know this is a tough time for them. It's just sad when you know people who get their lives taken because of stupid people with guns.

I do believe his story had been extensively tested. He was interviewed and questioned extensively 5 times and his story never changed and the cops that interviewed him believe him.

Hello; I understand that you are not in the USA. Do I read correctly from your post that you do not feel such an acquital would not happen outside the USA? Is the implication that the self defense laws are so much different here in the USA or is something else implied?
Also you seem to be saying that you have sources of information that somehow shed more light on the situation. It did seem that most everything about the case made it's way into the public domain over the many months since the incident. If I recall correctly, the initial police investigation resulted in no criminal charges for Zimmerman and this appears to have been confirmed by the lengthly trial process.
That's true but he could have twisted the story to make himself innocent. If he studied criminal law he would knew the requirements to prove innocence. It wouldn't be hard to lie once then recite it 5x over.

Because he disobeyed police orders and his actions led to the death of another person. I agree he should not have been charged with murder but he should be held accountable for his actions. It wasn't his job to hunt down "suspicious characters." anybody who doesn't believe he is guilty of manslauter should read into the neighborhood watch program. That being said IMO Martin is no saint and was no child. There is no perfect outcome here. Either way people will be upset. That being said there is no evidence and burden of proof falls on the prosecution, and they obviously didn't do enough. Can we please leave race out of this discussion?
You'd be surprised how hard it is to keep a fabricated story straight under such stressful situations as just having killed someone and later under police questioning. That beside the point there was an eye witness that corroborated his story and the evidence of Martin having grass stains on his knees and that the gsw (gun shot wound) was on Martin's right side suggests that Zimmerman had to draw the weapon offhand.
