your polys sides show a very strong indication for a nutrition problem. Youself saw, that something is wrong with him...
I did not say you feed him bad. It is possible that your polypterus has internal parasites that can cause something like that. Many polypterids are infected with nematodes and monogenea. You should let check that.
I think your miss understanding. A lot of people on this form don't like your opinion. Look up "alienated".
My guess is he cares a lot about his animals life, he doesn't care about your opinion.

His ornate is very ill and suffers a dent along it´s entire side. It´s underfed. What do you think is the problem here? He says he fed him well. I guess thats true. So what could cause that problem? Parasites are one option.
Again, his comments were not concerning his fish. I believe we all understand the fish has issues. Even those of us that didn't go to university.......

These are not salt water aquariums with 6 inches of sand, the recomended depth is 3/4"-1", if you have stock that isn't guppies and sword tails, your stock should be moving it enough and not to mention I move my sand around during every cleaning just to make sure. This all leads to no anoxic zone. Many fish may swallow rocks for ballasts or whatever other reason, but not Polys, and since this is a POLY sub-forum, that information can be ignored. So, any other reason why gravel is better then sand? Gravel can and will kill polys, it has been documented many times before, and sand, unless not properly maintained as one would vaccuum gravel, will cause no harm for bichirs.
Do you enjoy taking the complete opposite opinion of every one else, and then when you lose the debate because its 20 against you, you say it is not worth your time. Oh wait this is what trolls do.

True, parasites are a slim chance, but I think I'm going to say that since it is pooping neon green GRAVEL that this is obviosly much more likely the cause of DIGESTION issues...
