Lol yeah, everyone always gets caught, if that were true I'd have a huge record for all the crap I did in high school.

And for the peacocks to not screw up the native fish that's crap they are way more aggressive then a large mouth

These peacock bass were stocked TO control tilapia and other non-native species..not mentioned that these peacocks LOVE to eat young snakeheads. Then again most exotics were found in manmade ponds/canals.

Sooooooo stupid to introduce one non native to control another non native. Just look how well it worked out for australia, introducing cane toads to eat the introduced cane beetles. We are so stupid

Actually in this situation it works just fine, just not all biological control works that way.

I'm not going to argue that the federal fines are too high. That doesn't matter to me because I will never get one but....what does it say when you can get fined $250,000 and get possible jail time for transporting an illegal fish across state lines but you can wreck an entire housing market and catch a golden parachute into retirement? There is a guy in my town who got caught with 100's of graphic kiddy porn images on his computer. He got no jail time. My brothers ex has been convicted 7 or 8 times for drug possession and drug dealing. Guess how much time she's been sentenced to. None. She's even had a child endangerment conviction and still has her kids. But hey...god forbid that some noob happens to not even know he has an illegal fish until he asks mfk what it is. Maybe he bought it with a tank off craigslist. Big time criminal right there. I know I'll feel safer when he's not terrorizing the streets. Give me a break! I'm all for enforcing wildlife laws but something is wrong when drug dealers and child abusers get a slap on the wrist and someone with illegal fish is doing serious time. I don't even care if the feds read this post because I'd be willing to bet that they happen to agree with me. Who wouldn't? They as individuals have no choice but to do the job they are being paid to do but in the grand scheme of things.....

Anyone remember the kid in California that got in trouble for trying to sell an illegal shark? Can't remember his name on here but the situation was definitely something you would want to avoid.
