@petspoiler yeah it is better than slapping, grabbing, shoving & hitting but there are other options instead of physical contact IMO.

I was ridiculing the "study". it's absurdly horrid.

I do not think people in their thirties and forties fear their parents who are very old, under their kids care, etc. As for the rest, what does a tool in a toolbox mean? It does not mean my only tool. I need to ask you, what's wrong with YOU? When I say I spank my kid, how is it you assume that means all I know is spank my kid ?!

ok, maybe it isn't your only tool but I don't think ANYONE ever needs to use it when there are plenty of other options instead of it.

@Inglorious My problem? I didn't hit puberty till like freshman year. Then I realized how easy it is to get in deep shi*. My friends on the other hand always got spanked for the stupidest things, not saying you guys are like that but some parents are relentless and will spank for most things.

the older generations (70 and before) turned out ok. Its this new generation (i was born in 1991) that has the problems. Look at other countries. Public caninges, cutting hands off of people who steal.

I was spanked as a kid, I learned that acting right equals good things, misbehaving equals belt or wooden spoon my children (if i ever have any) will be spanked when needed

Ahh the old wooden spoon. Sounds like we had a similar childhood hahah.
