Come on guys! Let us do a healthy debate.

Forget my name is in 'red', please. I am a fishkeeper as everyone else. Come on...

See this is why you never see a pic of my tank around here. Everyone is quick to judge. I overstock severely even, their i said it! But one look at my filtration, water changes and parameters i would think speaks for itself and i invite anyone to come over and point out one sickly, deformed, or stunted fish. On the same note ive been to houses and places here that are "stocked" as in 5 6" fish in a 150gallon and yellow smelly water and fungus on fish and stunted deformed fish with wounds all infected and sitting at the bottom of tanks. 20gallon 5 guppy tank with 6 inches of waters missing from evaporation and green water But i suppose that makes them the better fish keeper? Cause they are following the stocking police laws. No thanks ill over stock, i like my fish healthy and thriving.

I have nothing against understocking. I keep seven solo wet pets, and a couple of understocked ( imho) tanks. But i have nothing against overstocking if it it well done ( and yes, it can be well done, it can be riorously done ).

And Woofy is right. There are lots of tanks out there that are a pity to behold. But because of their condition, because of their ( low ) level of maintenance, not because of their bio load per se.

What is worse, a big, ovefstocked, tank, that works ( and sure has its risks ) or a so called " normal" tank- whixh i am sure is the staple - with a silver arowana that can hardly turn?

I dont have a problem with some overstocking, but if your tank looks like times square on new year's eve I dont care about your filtration, wc schedule....ect. It is wrong!

Good example:)

Nothing looks like Times Sq in New Years eve.....

There is 8 and then there is eighty. It is somewhere in the middle that the balance lies.

But what exactly is wrong, besides you not liking it, with ( given as a matter of course ) well maintained Japanes style tanks?

nothing wrong lol, as long as they have high filter maintance and couple water changes a week, i see nothing wrong. :) and its a 180 gallon in the pic, thats better then most that JDM a 75 or under :)

thats why its called a JDM style tank...... maybe this guy DOES have a bigger tank already? yes this pic IS old, remember seeing this pic last year ( or was it a year before, or the beginning of this year? forgot which. )

Livebearerfreak, the tank object of this thread is ridiculous( we know the reason for it thanks to PacuMom) under any standards, as said.

We are debating one position versus another, in broader and general terms
