The Chinese term accurately describes what is happening there...not camp sitters with iPads.

the world is still paying for the terrible policies of Thatcher ( and her poodle Reagan)..she single handedly almost destroyed UK manufacturing.Or Margaret Thatcher - "The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money. "

You say, "There will always be the haves and the have-nots, but the "give me that" people are seldom willing to use force when they have the majority and think they can use "democracy" to take from others." I strongly disagree with this statement (amongst others).
I think that it is the elite who could arguably be called the "give me that" people. There are millions of hardworking people who work 40 hrs+ per week and don't earn a livable wage. There are millions of people denied medical care and subsequently dying from treatable conditions. Meanwhile, WE ALL pay high taxes. Then we carry the debt while banks and corporations get huge tax breaks, loans and bailouts worth $12.8 trillion according to Bloomberg News
http://www.pbs.org/wnet/need-to-know/economy/the-true-cost-of-the-bank-bailout/3309/.
This article says 7.7 trillion but either way, that's the money that you see missing from your check every month.

And where did the money go?

Towards raises and cash bonuses for banking CEOs and executives. No wonder why they're getting wealthier and wealthier while the rest of us fall farther and farther into debt.

I grew up in England during that time...does first hand experience count at all?You have something to back up those wild statements? Perhaps an NPR or Huffington post piece? Piers Morgan special you saw?

I do not think Britain would have survived as a world power had Thatcher not done the things she did.

I'll say this... I am at a community college right now transferring to a university in the fall. You need more money? Go back to school and train in a career that makes more money. They will literally accept anyone with a high school diploma (which they offer courses in if you don't have one) and will pay for 100% of it AND give you extra money for nothing AND offer you additional subsidized loans with 0% interest until you graduate AND offer child care, night classes, online classes. There are also plenty of scholarships. You can transfer to most universities, if you get the grades. If you wanted to and put the effort in, you could go to law school, medical school, etc.
