The African knife can be added to what I mentioned.

Upper jaws like palmas polli, senegalus, and delhezis will move around especially if there's food.

Puffers I would advise as a species only tank.

Dwarf puffers will work with any fish as long as its not too slow / and no long flowing fins...

African biotope....African butterfly fish, bushfish, and a Senegalus or delhezi. That'll cover ur zones in the water column.

That sounds like a really cool tank. Not very colorful, but cool.

Put enough plants in there and contrasting rocks and that'll give it some color.

yeah tiger barbs only get about 3 inches I think African,butterfly fish with a knife and something else would be cool!
