This might happen with 90% of the babies. Apparently the crawfish will not bother the shrimp/fish.

A crawfish will eat shrimp. I would recommend removing it and getting a school of rummynose tetra

Fairly busy, get rather large at 6". Great for comm tanks
 
I read that you would love puffers, wouldn't these do the trick?

Agreed, they're pretty slow swimmers, too. But do not back down from a fight.
Just watch fishes' fins every morning, they tend to nip at them.

Edit: I am not certain, but from memory, you may need to introduce small snails to make sure their teeth don't overgrow. Take this with a grain of salt, I am definitely not certain.
