Marineland Aquarium Bacteria and 5 fish cycling

Hello!
Ok I just set up a new 125g tank this evening. I have a Fluval FX4 on it, two submersible heaters, a circulation fan and air pump. Not really important, just saying. Clearly not a cycled tank.
Here's my question,
I have 2 Blue Acara's and 2 EB Jack Dempseys coming in Wednesday.
According to Mainland, I can place the bacteria in there and the fish right after they've acclimated to the water temperature. I would rather this happen so that I did not have to acclimate them to my 45g with some Africans in it. I was initially going too but then I got a surprise larger fish tank. Has anyone done this? Am I taking a risk and losing money. I just want them to start in the tank I made just for CA/SA cichlids. Any suggestions or wisdom welcome.

If you already have an existing cycled aquarium I suggest you take some media from the filter and place it in your new filter but make sure you use a good water conditioner such as Seachem Prime. Never heard of Mainland bacteria but just add according to directions.

yea it has directions, basically just throw it in there and then the fish and it'll be fine, we shall see. yes I keep seiche products .

i've never had problems standing up new tanks using seachem stability to "instant cycle". guessing the marineland stuff is more or less the same concept. just keep an eye on parameters, but it should be fine.

definitely agree with adding some media from a cycled tank, at the very least it wouldn't hurt.

Thank you:) and should I just start water changes when the nitrates start to rise?
I added the startup amount this morning and put my established Pleco in along with a small diadema cichlid that was getting bullied. I wanted to try it out on them first. Because I’m getting a shipment in tomorrow of 2 Blue a caras and 2 EB jack Dempsey’s that I want to add straight to that tank so they don’t get bullied in my other. This is their tank anyways.
Was going to test water tonight as long as my two fish were still alive
 
If I use filter media from my established tank, do I have to put it in the canister filter or can I just throw it in the water
