ii just found the polypterus dead... everything seemed fine he was doing great.

His belly had a gap in it and his stomach was gone. Do u guys think its because of bacteria or just that one of my other fishes ate his gutts and stomach

Something ate its stomach after it died. I haven't seen a bacterial infection causing the insides to pop.

after all the hejuta's died I never wanted to keep them anymore. Buying them again was no option because I would have to grown them to a decent size and that would take at least 6 months. So I went searching for something like a red tail chal. or a toxates. I came back with 2 fish.

1 a hejuta that is 15cm. never saw such a large one in the shop. It truly is an ideal size.
And the other is one of my old favourites. A lima soribum, I had one 6 years ago in a 1,5m tank. It became way to big and I had to search a new owner for it. It was one of my favourite fish. I will have to see what I m gone do with this one. The little guy will become to big for my tank. I will either remove the knife fish or the lima or both in a few years. But I just couldn't let the little lima stay in the shop. They are so cool :D

So I woke up to a nightmare.....

I can't seem to find the hejuta. And I got no idea how...
He either must have jumped out of the tank but that aint possible so he has to be eaten by my fish. Well I got no fish that can eat him except maybe the catfish. But the catfish aint fat at all so they didn't do it. So the hejuta is still a mystery for me....

The lima got attacked in the night after everything seemed fine. His one eye is swollen and red. I think he will be dead tomorrow or tonight. He doesn't look good at all

So I learned a few things.. my aquarium is fully stocked. Cuz all other fishes will die if I put new ones in it. I feel horrible.... Wasted 70 euro's and I lost 2 beautiful fish

Oh no!

Who got the lima? Pike? He may survive if you can quarantine him.

Maybe the eel chased both at night, causing the hujeta to jump out and the lima to crash into the driftwood (injuring it's eye). Heretrix has mentioned that dayi can be aggressive/territorial, so it might also be responsible for your bichir death. All 3 are long slender fish just like the dayi, and potential competitor to it.
