Sexy Plumbing - Island Tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I think the addition of sand would look great with the wood and rocks, I'm not really a fan of bare bottom tanks.

Leveling the stand and filling next.

Very nice. So I have decided that I am closing my stand. Couple reasons:
1) Needs more effort to make it sexy
2) I have small children I’m worried will go under the tank and break stuff
3) biggest factor, the stand has been there for a week and I can already see a ton of dust collecting. It’s going to be a nightmare to keep the underneath clean looking.

Thanks man. There isn’t much hope for perfect acrylic though. I’ve tested the limits on this tank since it’s utility. There is crazing like a mofo from learning hard lessons back in the day but at least it’s shiny now.

Makes sense. At least when you open it up for friends it will be impressive. That will likely cut the dust down a lot as well.

Tank is off the furniture dolly’s, leveled and in final position.

We redid the acrylic on the bad reinforcement job so that has to dry for a few days before fill. Decided to knock out the acrylic on the sump so they will be dry at the same time.

This sump is for from sexy but is what it is for now. We’ll build a new 30”x26”x20” when things settle down in a few months. Few holes patched, corners reinforced and a K1 baffle.

That drives me nuts too. Trust me these are stellar. They make black somewhat rigid line hang straight down with a lot of air moving. No climb either. @ $12.99 for a six pack it’s hard to beat

This tank won’t have an air stone running though. Easy to toss one over the side if needed.

I need me one!
