Okay. I've been experimenting with all sorts of different fish trying to find a peaceful combination. I finally have a batch not fighting. 3 angels. 1 ornate bichir. 1 elephant nose. 1 severum. 1 yellow jacket and 1 silver arowana. They all are young and getting along. I have a 120 but know I'll need a bigger tank. If I don't ad any more fish what size tank would you recommend. They have a 240 for sale for 1000 bucks that I'd like to get but its only 6 feet long. I was hoping for an 8 footer.
Just wait it out until you find that 8 footer you want. What specie is the yellow jacket?
The arrowana is the " elephant" in the room....a 4 foot fish needs a big tank. Much bigger than 240. Many threads here will attest to needing a 10x4x2 sized tank which is around 600 gallons and might still not be big enough....I suggest you rehome the Aro or plan a pond build.....
I actually have the space with a cement floor to do a tank like that if I can convince my wife he needs it. And she will eventually once he starts growing. So pretty much as big as I can fit. I think I could do 8×4×4ft not sure how many gallons that is.
Just what I thought. Parachromis specie is a CA cichlid they are more aggressive than most SA cichlids. Keep your eye out for harassment of tankmates.
