I don’t mind if he loses his eye, he isn’t a show fish he is my buddy, my pet. If he can live and be happy with no eyes I don’t mind. So I guess my question is will the salt make him worse? I know he probably wont make it but like I have said I want to try without making it worse. Do I slowly add the rest of the salt to try and stop the infection or do I get the salt out of there. I have read everything in this thread and followed all advice except bring to a vet because it will kill him and putting him to sleep just because he is still fighting to be here and I am fighting too.My point in using NaCl is to help other infections from spreading, if treatment was going to be tried at all.
If you look in my 1st post, I suggest, if it were me, I probably would not expect it to live, and probably would have euthanized it, barring that way to go, just keeping infection from spreading would be my next objective.
The damage to the eye looked extensive, way back on the 1st page of posts, and looked to me, irreparable. That doesn't mean the fish couldn't make it, but may be blind in that eye, and it (the eye) would never again look healthy.
