islandguy11 I know, I thought he was a goner for sure and only expected the worse so that I didn’t get my hopes up. He was shipped in a surprisingly small bad that only had about 3 inches of water in it, the rest leaked out and the water was cold. I’m just happy he made it until my friend could get him in the tank. I’ll update everyone for sure though!! I had a piece of driftwood with some java moss on it but it took up too much room in the tank(keep in mind it’s only a 10 gallon quarantine setup). I may go buy a couple fake plants for him since he keeps trying to hide behind the sponge filter.

Jacob92677 wow what an improvement!! Any particular diet to achieve this? Or would you recommend just normal foods? So far, he has eaten big bites cichlid formula, NLS and Northfin cichlid

I feed him hikari bio gold mainly and hikari cichlid excel to add Anlittle extra fiber to his diet but I don’t credit food to his looks I just keep him happy he has good genes and I play with him a bit when feeding

Yes give him time to get comfortable in the meantime just keep him happy
Good filtration good temp
Most my fh are happiest around 84-86
After a while he will recognize you as the food source and he will beg you for food just give him time

Jacob92677 awesome, right now I’m running a 40g breeder size sponge filter with an aquaclear 70 on his 10 gallon quarantine setup with the temp set at 84. Im moving in January and have a 65g long(same dimensions as a 75 just not as tall) to setup for him, so in a couple months he will have plenty of space. He’s not too big now though so it should be just big enough for him to get comfortable with me and heal up a bit

I’d do the soaked epsom salt pellet treatment on him. As a treatment and preventative. How’s his poop? Take care of him and he should color back up and his personality will come through. Be vigilant! Don’t skimp on water changes! Get him past this point and he’ll show you what he’s got!

ECW as of right now he’s being treated with 3 different medications, this will be his 3rd out of 5 days of treatment. He’s on a medication for internal parasites, one for external parasites(ich) and one for fin rot etc. I’m going to do a water change today as well as he had just had one 2 days ago
