Good luck with the issue bro! At least RTCs are very hardy and will handle the mini cycle ok. May I ask where you bought the tank from?

Biorings in fx6. I think you don't actually have an issue with ammonia. That's my opinion though, I think it's more of a "misread" of the test. Seems you'd have more then enough bioavailable space to convert whatever ammonia would be made in your tanks. Also seems enough time has gone by. I missed it are you using prime or another ammonia binder? If the tests are actually accurate I'd say a good bacteria in a bottle may be an answer. Like mb7, little expensive but works great.
I know my idea of prime inhibiting the cycle has been disagreed with. This is one of the cases that if you truly are seeing ammonia there really isn't much other reason for it. I have no scientific proof, just stories like yours. I had the same issue in a tank. I stopped using prime and started letting my water de-gas and or started filtering it to remove chlorine and chloramine luckily I've not had chloramine. Fixed my issues.
I first heard about mb7 while reefing and have used it since. I have started tanks with fish followed the directions and never had a problem. It is alive and it does work. I used it in a fishless tank with all new bio. After a week of dosing mb7 and ammonia I had a strong enough biological filter to convert a dose of ammonia in about an hour. I added fish and just did the weekly maintenance dose for a few more weeks just to be sure.
