Hey
Ogertron3000
what are your numbers? Or at least what were they.
We use metric system measurements here so its all in kilograms.
Height is 5foot 7 weight normally around 83kgs
Back in march I was benching and squatting 55-60kgs, 3 sets of 8-10 reps.
Around 5 years ago when I was really into it and pushing hard I was doing 70kgs, I would like to be able to do both equal to my bodyweight for the full sets eventually. It will be something to aim for once the gyms eventually reopen here.
I used to do split training eg.monday chest, tuesday back etc. butthe last few years for efficiency I started doing full body with one excercise per body part and more cardio each trip to the gym. I noticed this caused a drop in bulk but kept the fitness up and also kept everything more even and in proportion. This was because i travel a bit for my job and family obligations meant I couldnt have a regular gym schedule, 1 week i could go 5 times and the next week maybe only once so I think its better to hit the whiole body instead of focusing on just 1 part because then ego kicks in for me and I just wanted big chest and arms.
Age and some kind of maturity also played a part and I am now more concerned with fitness and strength than looking like Arnold but i do enjoy being a bit more muscular than average too.
I really started the gym because I had physical jobs from age 17 up until early 30s then I literally went from being a labourer on a building site to a sales rep in 1 week and the changes to my body, fitness and strength were quick and dramatic and I could really feel the difference both mental and physical and wanted to do something to stop the slide.
I always say you just need to find an exercise you like, whether its playing tennis, yoga or jogging, whatever and just do it more often than you dont and you will get some nice benefits.
What you are doing s great, you should be genuinely proud that you are sticking to it and improving so quickly. The physical side is one thing but the mental improvements from the discipline , self esteem and courage of making yourself exercise everyday are not to be understated either,
Good luck, you have inspired me to consider posting my gym numbers here too , just to kick start things when i can get back to it.
